What I do to my shoes

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

I am not good to my shoes. Scuff kick scrape! (x1000) The silver on these wore off about six months after I bought them so I patched it with some silver glass outliner.

Shoes before collage
More scuffing kicking and scraping later, one health I was going to emboss them, visit web but then I saw some shoe collaged with stamps in ‘Craft’ magazine by Yasmin Bochi. So its Saturday morning, stuff and I should be cleaning the bathroom, but no, its time to get the PVA glue, some old books and some stamps!

Collage shoes

They’re not quite done yet – I need more stamps, so please pass me on any you have, particularly if they’re oldor foreign. I knew I should never have given away my stamp collection…

Then the shoes will need sealed with several coats of varnish. Here are some links of others:

Facebooking Ahoy!

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

Like many of my fellow Moosers, viagra I have joined Facebook, and have a lunch scheduled with another mum I haven’t seen for a while this week as a result! As I really find it hard to summon energy for more active tasks, surfing is my favourite form of procrastinating from housework, closely followed by crochet and going out for coffee.

Mira is now onto solids – the carrot went down better than rice – and has been swimming!

19 days to go…

Insert dramatic music of choice. (My favourites would be the Imperial March or Ride of the Valkyries.)

The midwife slightly freaked me out by saying that today – so much to do, phlebologist so little time! Bathroom conversion happening next Monday.

Here are some of the lovely gifts I got when leaving work – not the chocolates, as I’m afraid they’ve all gone already. Yes, I know – a box every two days is not part of a healthy balaned diet.

Here is a card I made for my friend Kerry, expecting at the end of July:

Baby Card

And my recent creative exploits: recycled tin painted with acrylics and embossed, glass beads, copper wire, freshwater pearls and mother-of-pearl.

A huge thank you to everyone!

Pregnancy Update

30 weeks, <a href=pregnancy 29 years” src=”” />

I’m at 33 weeks out of 40 now, treat and I haven’t shared very much about my experience as yet – so here are some of the highs and lows…

Being kicked and tickled by a very wriggly person indeed – its happening as I type, this just above my tummy button!

Hearing the heartbeat and going for scans.

Anticipating meeting the little one for the first time – I can’t wait!!!

Free stuff – the Boots club is the best! They send you vouchers all the time! Today I got foundation from No 7, a changing bag, a baby bathwash, wipes and all I had to do was buy a bag of nappies.

Window shopping for cute stuff!

Choosing names – I must have looked at thousands though!

Maternity leave starting in three weeks – wey hey!

Generous lovely people being nice to you!

People going ‘You’re tiny, aren’t you?’ like I’m starving the infant or something. I’m starting to get really annoyed. I don’t go up to people and say, ‘You’re so wrinkly/smelly/sweaty’ etc. I can’t help it, okay?

Physical drawbacks – mildly irritating nosebleeds, backache, cramp and acid reflux, sometimes causing sleep deprivation. Not as bad as the four months of fairly relentless nausea, however. SOOO glad that’s over.
General grogginess, losing your memory and the ability to think. Depending on who you listen to, you may or may not get this back.

Trying to find nice cheap clothes that don’t fall down or bobble.

None of the above really detract from the loveliness much – you seem to get a kind of constant calm endorphine that overrides it all.

Here is a picture of some of the lovely things I received today!

A huge bundle of inspiration and loveliness from my husband and sister-in-law – many thanks to you; and to my parents-in-law who have given me an amazing voucher for V V Rouleaux; and to Kerry for a very generous book token which means I can indulge in more indulgence still!

What a happy girl I am!
