Jamie in his Huck Finn Pants

Home Report

Sunday, March 20th, 2011

I wanted to add decorations for an Easter tree, health and until we moved I had a beautiful lilac branch that I had painted with irridescent acrylic and used for all holiday occasions – but it didn’t really survive the move. So I have a new branch that was pruned from the crab apple tree at my folks and I wanted some new eggs to hang on it for Easter.

WIP Decopague Eggs

I have been using my decopatch and tissue paper collection, just some finishing to do.

WIP baby hat, Patons/Cotton Glace

Making a baby hat for my friends little girl, in Paton’s DK and Rowan Cotton Glace. I was told by a woman in a yarn shop in York that the yarns were not exactly the same in guage but they are as near as you can get and the two colour ranges work together so brilliantly, I think you would be hard pushed to notice it really.

Cupcake Day

And cupcakes, Nigella’s with a little lime zest added and lime creamcheese icing. Yum!

I watched Julie and Julia recently, food can be so much more than I ever thought, family memories that last forever…
Things are beginning to settle down after a bout of chicken pox and I have got some stuff done in the home!

The kitchen is going to be bright, pharmacy
with pinks and blues!

Granny stars

This will be a crochet star garland, once blocked and sewn to a crochet chain!

I have an obsession with tester pots, which means that I have lots of colours to play with for painting wicker baskets etc later.

My favourite white is Jasmine White, from Dulux, in the endurance paint, which is expensive but so worth it when you have children. The living room has been done in Natural Calico, and the kitchen in Sweet Sundae, all scrubbable!

New stuff for the New Year

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

I officially cease to be a seconday teacher on the 4th of Jan, ambulance but I have lots of teaching spiritual development gigs lined up… 2010 was an amazing year for me spiritually and I’m looking forward to going further up and further in. I hope to spend lots of time on family and home and if you don’t see me, its because the home part needs a LOT of work!

So I’m not really posting here now

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

I am mostly using Facebook. It is much quicker, epilepsy and I am also mum to two very active, find demanding children, view a half time teacher, and part time spiritual practitioner, and spur of the moment creativity is likely to be shelved while we move house in three weeks.

Please friend me on Facebook (as Heather Thorp, in Glasgow) if you want to hear my latest brief musings, and I’ll let you know how I figure out my communication when I have a decision.

Thank you for reading!

Home and Hunmanby:

I had got up one Saturday morning with the urge to doodle – and this is what happened…

I photographed my drawing (no scanner), thumb printed on cotton, ambulance
made a sandwich with some angelina, net, and wadding, stitched round the edge randomly and voila!

Then I thought they would make great t-shirts…

And I painted…

Home and Hunmanby:

Hello again!

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Just looked at th date of my last post and am slightly horrified. I am afraid my flirtation with facebook has been catastrophic for the blogging… but I have not been idle!

Wire crochet snowflake

Here are some of my facebook thoughts:

velvety baby giggles

my favourite form of punctuation is the ellipsis… and in second place is the dash -

bramble schnapps, web battenburg cake and liquorice allsorts

canned heat – ice cream – aint no mountain – the time is now – don’t give up…

My boys!

Has been busy! Jamie had his eight week check up and he was so brave with his injections he barely cried! Thanks to Auntie Jackie who was a sanity saver and kept Mira occupied throughout!

Jamie now weighs almost six kilos and Mira is thirteen. She has also grown three centimetres this summer.  Her favourite activity is giving Jamie kisses followed by painting…

This is a giraffe and a tiger. We had been to the zoo so she is having an animal theme at the moment. I have also had a few creative moments as I keep running out of thank you cards…

The card blanks themselves are recycled material and so is about half of the decoration.

One week to go…

Friday, August 7th, 2009

Today I went for my check up at the hospital and was unexpectedly sent for another scan. I was quite happy about this, drug although the registrar was worried that my placenta was in the wrong place. But all was fine, and no I didn’t ask if it was a boy or a girl, just the weight which currently is 7lb 12oz, so already 9oz bigger than Mira. I am quite uncomfy, and happy if there is an early appearance!

This is the patch of nasturtiums that she helped dig and plant! The lupins are doing less well… but here is my purple patch

And a friendly snail!

Tenth Anniversary!

Where did the time go?

Eight and a half months pregnant with number two now…

Very blessed!
